Monday afternoon

Trent is not getting treatments this week. White counts are down. Maybe next week. A little vacation!
He is getting a bone marrow test tomorrow.

Monday

Trent had a good weekend.
He finished the cylinder head and installed it on the motor on Saturday. Almost ready to run!
He ran the video computer at church during service and went to see little bro play a couple basketball games at Azusa. Later on, they went out for lobster dinner!
Trent goes in for blood tests this morning.
If his counts are good, he will go into to CHOC tomorrow for the second 5 week treatment.
There are three 5 week treatments this summer.
The treatment he gets this week will reduce his white count down and he will need medicine to raise the count. Don't be surprise if he cannot see visitors.
Trent will be at CHOC for 2 to 3 weeks.

Wednesday

Trent finished his first 5 week treatment yesterday. He is done with the steroids! Trent does not like steroids.
Next week will start the next 5 week program if Trent makes his blood counts.
Every 5 week program starts with time in CHOC. This next program might be a 2 to 3 week stay in CHOC.
The chemo on this next treatment will reduce his white count so low that he will need medicine to increase the count.

Wednesday

Last two Mondays, Trent has needed platelets. It's a quick IV and doctors say it's normal.
Trent had treatment yesterday. It went real well. Using Propofol has really help with recovery time and general mood. Trent was very awake and was enjoying shelled peanuts in the surgical gown.
Next treatment is next Tuesday.

Bone Marrow Transplant Results

The tests came back and none of the family is a match to Trent.
The transplant coordinator did a preliminary search and here is her results;
"I ran a preliminary search through the National Marrow Donor Registry (NMDP) and found that Trent has many potential 9 out of 10 donors, which meets our criteria for a suitable donor for BMT".
So we have plenty of donors to begin the formal search.
Thanks to all of you who offered to be a possible donor to Trent. We love you all!

Today Trent's grandma Rudy passed away. Ruby is Kristie's mom.
Ruby was a very special mom, mother-in-law and grandma.
I'll be posting a message from Trent a little later today.
Ruby was strong believer in Christ Jesus and we know she is with Him today and forever.
Thanks for all the memories Ruby! We will remember you always.

Here is a post from Trent;
Today this morning, my grandma, Ruby Zagar, passed away peacefully at Terrace View before she could be transferred to the hospital nearby. She was on her last threads throughout the last two weeks and the whole family believed that she made a considerable effort to keep with us as long as possible with the condition she was in. Through this loss of a dearly beloved part of our family, we learn and become more aware that life has its painful realities that must be faced in order to move on with ourselves and our own spiritual needs and accept the event as a form of adversity through which there is a manifestation of grace. And it is through this grace that we can choose to take advantage of the moment and become "transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Wednesday

Trent did real well at the treatment yesterday.
We were able to do everything as outpatient, so we got home last night.
Trent likes the procedures at the hospital versus outpatient clinic because they use Propofol for anesthesia. He comes out of the procedure very quickly and has no side effects.
He was eating chicken sandwiches in the recovery bed, so you know he was doing good.

Monday

Trent had a real good weekend. Lot's of studies and building his engine for the Willys.
Still no side effects from last weeks treatment and he's eating good.
Trent has blood tests today to make sure his counts are high for tomorrow's treatments.
We do have to checkin to CHOC hospital tomorrow, but it will be outpatient treatment. He'll be back home tomorrow night.
Trent is taking a math final this afternoon. Life is busy.
